The Dojo Challenge is an unforgiving battleground. Unless you are one of the top players in your bracket, you risk being raided repeatedly. However, for the average player, it is the most vital source of Evolution Energy in the game.
In this guide we will break down what the Dojo Challenge is, why it’s essential for your progress, and the best tips to ensure you walk away with your precious energy.
What is the Dojo Challenge?
The Dojo Challenge is an ongoing weekly event that starts every Monday at reset and ends Sunday at midnight server time. Players from different servers compete to challenge and hold various dojos to accumulate energy.
Dojo Types
There are four types of dojos, each providing a specific type of energy:
- Azure Dojo: Water Energy
- Ember Dojo: Fire Energy
- Granite Dojo: Earth Energy
- Tidal Dojo: Electric Energy
Dojo Tiers and Rewards
The amount of energy you earn depends on the tier of the dojo you occupy:
Dojo Tiers
Dojos are like “energy banks.” The better they pay, the more likely you are to get raided.
| Dojo Tier | Location | Energy / Hour | Risk Level |
| Champion | Center (Page 1) | 720 | High (Targeted by top players) |
| Elite | Around Page 1 | 630 | Medium (Easy to find) |
| Common | Page 2+ | 600 | Low (Harder to find) |
How the Event Works
When you challenge a dojo, it accumulates energy for up to 6 hours.
- 100% Occupancy: If you hold a dojo for the full 6 hours, you can claim “100% occupied” rewards, which include extra energy, resources, or even Omni tokens.
- The Risk of Raiding: Other players can raid your dojo to steal your energy. If your defense fails, you lose half (50%) of the energy currently stored and lose your eligibility for the 100% occupancy bonus.
- Your Raids: You can raid other players 4 times a day to steal half of their stored energy.
Why is this important?
Evolution Energy is crucial for account growth. You need it to evolve your Palmon, which grants better stats and eventually unlocks a fifth skill. Without it, your squad will be at a massive disadvantage.
Dojo Rewards
- 6-Hour Limit: Your dojo stops earning after 6 hours. You must claim it to start again.
- 100% Bonus: If you reach the full 6 hours without being raided, you get a “Jackpot” (extra energy, resources, or Omni tokens).
- Raid Penalty: If someone raids you and you lose, they steal 50% of your stored energy and you lose your bonus.
The Strategy: Pick a Common Dojo on a later page. You earn 120 less energy per hour than a Champion dojo, but you are much more likely to keep 100% of it!
Tips and Tricks for Survival
If you aren’t a high-level “Kraken,” you need to play smart. Here are the strategies to maximize your value:
1. Position Yourself for Success
Don’t just pick the first dojo you see.
- Stay off Page 1: Most raiders start scanning from the first page. It is tedious to flip through dozens of pages, so you are much safer if you pick a dojo several pages back.
- The “Edge” Strategy: Choose dojos located at the very top or bottom of the page. Raiders often focus on the middle of the screen and may scroll right past you if you are at the edges.
2. Claim Energy Frequently
If you are in an aggressive bracket and keep getting raided, stop being greedy.
- Early Claims: Claim your energy every couple of hours. By keeping your stored energy low, you make yourself a “bad target” for raiders who want a big payout.
- Time Your Claims: Everyone gets new raid attempts at reset. Claim your energy immediately after reset to avoid the initial surge of attacks.
3. The “Greedy” Strategy
If you want that 100% occupancy bonus, try to wait until near the end of the day. Most players use up their 4 raids early on. As the day progresses, the threat level decreases.
Pro Tip: Set an alarm for when your dojo is full to claim it before a late-night raider finds you.
4. Be Selective with Your Raids
You only get 4 raids, so make them count.
- Target High Value: Aim for dojos with at least 1,200 energy stored.
- Wait for the Payout: If you wait until later in the day, dojos will generally have more energy stored than they did in the morning.
